Working Hours: Full-time Monday to Friday (overtime and weekends required)
Compensation: $34 to $36 per hour (based on experience) plus a benefits package including extended health, dental and vision coverage
Starting Date: ASAP; relocation assistance will be provided to the successful candidate

What you bring to the table:
Essential to our requirements are a BC or Interprovincial 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate (minimum requirement). Please attach a photo or scanned copy of your certifications for this role.

The Role:
As a 4th class Power Engineer (minimum requirement), you will operate and maintain a NorthStar Ice making system including 2x 300 HP ammonia screw compressors, 6x Model 60 NorthStar ice makers, 2 Freon ice bin chilling units and an automated ice rake delivery system that includes various augers, a rotary valve and pneumatic delivery system. The job also includes operating the ice delivery system as required. Additional maintenance will include work on ramps, floats, fish processing equipment, water fish pumps, water lines and associated fish processing plant equipment. You will be required to work overtime and weekends as needed. Vacation time will be approved for off-season (late fall/winter) months.

• Operate, inspect, troubleshoot and maintain ammonia refrigeration system and ice bin, compressed air supply, water supply, etc.
• Install, maintain and/or repair machines, equipment, mechanical systems, buildings and other structures.
• Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions, performing repair tasks quickly and precisely, to ensure safe and efficient operations keeping downtime to a minimum.
• Adhere to preventative maintenance programs.
• Maintain inventory of equipment, supplies and materials.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described.

• 4th class Power Engineer certificate (minimum requirement).
• 1+ years recent related experience.
• Trades certificate is an asset.
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems an asset.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Be willing to learn electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently; knowledge of safety regulations and practices using lock out/tag out procedures.
• Must be available for all hours of operation including overtime and weekend work as needed.
• Strength and agility necessary for lifting and climbing.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work in various temperatures and environments.
• Ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships with co-workers, contractors and company management.
• Strong background in systems diagnostics and repair with the ability to anticipate, troubleshoot and solve problems.
• Organized in approach to work assignments, practices effective time management, and prioritizes tasks.
